Hi,

Hoping someone can direct me here.

I made my last payment in April and received my form 5 in June, which is great! But when should I contact the creditors on my credit report to change from "in default" to the relevant status? Am I able to now, or will I have to wait until the trustee has been discharged?

Thanks,

You don't need to wait until the trustee is discharged - your credit report should reflect your own status, ie no longer liable for the various debts. Having said that, I think in practice creditors will often need to be pushed to change the report at this stage.

Thanks for that Kevin.

Is it best to deal direct with creditors at this stage to sort this out first and foremost? Or just to raise a dispute to get this corrected?

Thanks,

Hi gibbo8907.

You should take this up with the creditors directly.

The credit reference agencies simply report what they're being told by your former creditors.
