Hello again all.

Just wondered if people would be happy to share their experiences between final payment and discharge?

Should I expect to have to provide any additional paperwork over and above what I have already provided? Or is the final review just a case of looking at everything I have provided and signing it off?

The reason I ask is because I have never been asked to provide bank statements to my TD adviser (but I know some do). I have only had to provide the payslips and the odd document relating to my car. Which means up to now I haven't been all that great at keeping a hold of my statements. I have maybe kept 3 months at previous statements at any given time.

From what I read on here - it seems unlikely I will even hear from them until the discharge hits the door mat - but I like to know.

Hi Scotslad

There should be no need for a review if you are close to your final payment.

Hi Mark,

Sorry - I wasn't very clear, I meant the time between the final payments and being discharged.

I spoke to my IP and they said they will conduct a final 'file review' before winding things up.

Hi Scotslad

No this is just an internal matter to ensure everything has been dealt with before closing. ie all claims received, all contributions received etc.

I'm sure it will be fine. No need hopefully for pre closure nerves.

When our final payment was made, I called them a few days later to confirm that we have made all payments required. They checked our file and called back saying yes and to c/x our DD and we would receive our discharge soon. We done that and got our discharge one week later. They also said in the call they would be checking for any PPI and would discharge themselves in due time. It was just under 4mths that we noticed on the AIB site they were discharged and our creditors had been paid.
It's just them dotting the I's and crossing the T's. We didn't provide further paperwork at all.

Could luck

It's the Accountant In Bankruptcy website jimmybee.

From that you can access the Register of Insolvencies where the details of your trust deed (important dates etc) will be held.

Thanks JimmyBee! I am more concerned about finding it all if I am asked for it - just want the process to be as smooth as possible. [:)]
