I'm almost in my last year of my TD. I have relative who is emigrating to a sunnier climate. [8D]
He has a motorbike that he wishes to give to me. It would be ideal for my commute to work and would be much simpler to park. It's worth about £2000. If I were to accept the bike and register it in my name, how would it affect my TD?
I have a car also. It's an 05 Megane and worth less than £1000.

Welcome to the forum fizban.

Run this by your trustee. I suspect you'll find out that it won't necessarily be much of a problem to agree a way forwards that you're happy with.

I guess it might come down to whether you need both a bike and a car. If you are gifted the bike then the trustee might look for the car to be sold and the proceeds go into the Trust Deed. They might not, but it is a possibility.

Thanks for the replies.
As you say I don't really need a car and a bike. I quit riding as the roads and drivers in Glasgow are
downright dangerous.
