Vanquis are ok if you make payments on time - (a bit like any other card really) and try and clear the balance due to the high interest rates.
I've had one for around a year now and i've had two credit limit increases so far. Just got accepted for an Aqua card as well with a relatively low limit.
I won't pay any interest on the vanquis card as I am only using it to rebuild my credit rating. I will use it to fill up the car once a month then pay it off.

A new dawn.
Hi Paul, Vanquis are good. As everyone says, clear the balance off each month & it's no probs. I wish I had learnt this earlier & I wouldn't of made such a mess of things. I also know someone who got a car from Parks in Ayr while in their trust deed. They told them their credit rating wasn't good but never mentioned trust deed. It took 4 days to get the finance approved but worth the wait. I might try myself but I'm a lot more cautious of applying for credit now. Hope this helps.
Nice plum coloured card arrived this morning so its all up and running. £500 limit.
Bit different to a few years ago where there was a platinum card in my wallet with £15000 spent on it and a gold one with £6000 spent on it. Oh yes and an egg card with £3500 spent on it........
those were the days.........not!!!
Looking forward to rebuilding my credit rating by being a sensible chap and not a plastic dafty!!!!

A new dawn.
I had a gold one with £25000, 2 silver ones - one with £15000, one with £8000. A blue one with £7500 and a green one with £7500. All but 2 were at their limits. Now I have my cheeky wee vanquis card in a lovely shade of blue with a fraction of all that on it. Spending anything on it gives me a sick feeling but I get a warm and cosy feeling when I pay it off on payday.
Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!
