That's an interesting point. I suppose we only really see things up to the point of closure, although in 25+ years I have only came across 2 or 3 cases where a person has entered into insolvency more than once.

Well, I for one have learned a hard lesson. The thought of getting into the situation that led me to sign up for a TD fills me with dread. I understand how circumstances for some can lead them to become insolvent again but you'd think the vast majority would never go down that path again.
Given what TDA has mentioned about statistical evidence pointing the other way when it comes to formerly insolvent people still being poor at repayments, I guess I'll have to do my bit to prove to lenders I'm a low risk. If I can't even get a Vanquis card though, with a decent paying steady job, it looks like I might be waiting till my TD is finished and credit file updated to settled or satisfied across the board!
Glad that's over with....
Hi Upstream
Have you tried applying for the Capital One Classic credit card? They advertise it as being for those trying to rebuild credit history and you can apply online.

Hi Domino
Decided to give that a whirl and computer said yes! That's great. Hopefully be able to start rebuilding that credit file now, and get my Noddle rating higher than the 1 out of 5 it's currently giving me.....
Glad that's over with....
Interesting info from experian. You'd drag me kicking and screaming before I'd be there again.
And...good news upstream. !
I was sent a vanquished card after discharge, limit ยฃ500, ideal for petrol and paying off or for online purchases.
Have to say the car done banking account works well for separating main bills then transferring cash to the card, one card, effectively 2 envelopes/ jam jars.
Also used the cashplus MasterCard, has a credit builder facility we never used but this account allows direct debits the car done banking doesn't.
