This thread is being added to the forum in light of The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations.

We have today been working on amending the forum registration procedure to ensure that people that register to the site in the future are aware of how this forum uses "cookies" and also to secure their agreement to this before they use the forum. The change will be implemented in the next day or so.

This thread is for the benefit of existing forum members that did not receive the same amount of information when they initially registered to the forum (though it has always been available in the forum FAQ and was also mentioned in lesser detail on the registration page).

Cookies are used by our forum to store the following information: the last time you logged in, your Username and your Encrypted Password. These cookies are stored on your hard drive. Forum cookies are not used to track your movement or perform any function other than to enhance your use of these forums. If you have not enabled cookies in your browser, many of these time-saving features will not work properly. You need to have cookies enabled if you want to enter a private forum or post a topic/reply.

You may delete all cookies set by these forums in selecting the "logout" button at the top of any page.

Probably not the most interesting thread you've ever read here; congratulations on reaching the end of it!

I actually yawned as I wrote it.

Important nonetheless, but not real biscuits.

Simple rule:

No forum cookies = press "logout".

Thank you Europe.

With apologies (again!) to everyone that has already read this thread, I'm giving it another "bump" to ensure more of our existing members can read it.
