Good Morning all,
My PTD commenced in September 2010 and was due to run for 36 months. Luckily, a family member was able to assist me and pay this off early, with me paying them instead; the basis of which was to start repairing my credit sooner. I was sent a Form 5, highlighting that the trust deed had been completed on 29/07/12.
I took the advice of this forum and signed on to Noddle. After only a few months my noddle account was updated, showing that I had been discharged and the date matched that of the aforementioned form 5. I decided to obtain a report from Experian. To my surprise, they're still showing my PTD as being active? I tried calling Experian direct but they kept putting me through to departments that had no idea of how to help.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to Trust-Deed.co.uk Rover1983.
The evidence is that some credit reference agencies provide more complete and accurate information than others on average. Sometimes some will make a change and others will not.
You may want to write to Experian, enclosing a copy of your Form 5 as evidence, and request that your file is promptly updated.
Under the data protection act you're entitled to this information being kept accurate.
Thank you Trust Deed Assistant. I will write to Experian as advised.
I will keep you up to date with my progress,
Thanks again, it is very much appreciated.
Just a quick note to say that Experian have responded to my email. They are going to update my file in the next 24 hours, marking it as being discharged/completed. All I did was send them a copy of my Form 5 and some detail around the error.
I found their service pretty good; the guy even indicated that there was still an account showing as a default and should this not be marked as satisfied? He is ,of course, correct but that is a battle I've been fighting with RBS since last year! It is now the only thing on my file that is incorrect, so here's hoping it gets amended soon. I've now made a formal complaint about this to them so hopefully they'll take me a bit more seriously now.
Wishing everyone a good Weekend.
