Hi experts,
Haven't written on the site for a while, looks as busy as ever!
I was discharged from my TD early April after paying all agreed amounts including equity. Fine I thought, my IP was to remain in post to tidy up a few loose ends, not uncommon and I had no problem with this.
Part of my TD included a large joint loan with my wife and when she enquired about its balance last week she was not best pleased to find no dividend had been payed to it from td pot. It transpires that nothing has been paid and IP still not discharged.
This does not bother me personally however as my credit file is pretty goosed but my wife has a decent one and has been told by our bank they won't look at our mortgage until this joint loan position is sorted.
That's 7 months, firm say vat is causing delays. I was glad I didn't have PPI but this feels just as bad. Has anyone had similar problem.
I should emphasise i was happy with IP but I kept to my side of the deal and feel a bit let down.

Hi Ralph
Irrespective of the VAT issue, an IP can pay interim dividends to creditors through the course of the Trust Deed.

Thanks Mark,
Don't think this has been the case with my TD as all balances on my credit file are the same as at start of TD and all are still defaulted. the joint loan has had nothing payed, I have spoken to them and should have had the biggest slice of dividend as they were the biggest creditor.

Sorry, forgot to ask, what would be an acceptable timeframe for sorting out the enigmatic 'VAT' issue?
Thanks
Ralph
Hi Ralph
I'm not sure about other firms, however ours was finalised in March.
I must confess though, we locked out financial guy in a dark room to get it concluded.
