How long after a protected Trust deed is complete must the details stay on the insolvency register?

Once the details have been erased from the register are tey archived and can they still be accessed by 'privileged' parties - e.g. accountants, lawyers, the police?

many thanks.

Nick.

Hi nastynick

It remains on for 12 months after the end of the trust deed.

As its public record, im sure it will be easy enough to find after that date with a little work.

Thanks Mark, what I'm driving at is this. Is there a cut off point after which it's completely obliterated from public records - to put it differently, would a member of the public be able to discover that someone had signed a protected Trust Deed - say in 1999?

Hi Nick.

I've just checked the Edinburgh Gazette website where trust deeds are advertised.

As a test I entered "trust deed 1996" into the search function and was easily able to find individual records of trust deeds that were being advertised 15 years ago.

I think the answer to your question is therefore almost certainly "yes".

But it also goes on record that you have been discharged, within a couple of weeks if that's any help
