Hello again.
I received a letter from the closure team at KPMG on 1st june telling me they have written to my creditors asking for approval of their fees and if there was no objection after 14 days dividends would be paid to all creditors. As i have not heard otherwise I assume this has been done. But as yet the ROI has not been updated to say they have discharged themselves. How long would this normally take ? Is it normal to take so long to close a TD. ? Do I need to get in contact with KPMG AGAIN [:(] !!!.
Thanks

Hi Scotland28

After 14 days the will send the discharge docs to the AIB who will record and update the ROI. It may well take the AIB 2-3 weeks to update their system.

Hi Mark
thanks for that.Is that 14 days after the 1st of june as that is when the creditors were advised of the closure. If so we are now into august and the records have not been updated, a bit of a concern.
thanks.

Yes, 14 days from the creditors circular. That does seem a helluva long time

My latest excuse from my undischarged trustee (6 months after final payment) is that some of my creditors are a bit slow in cashing their cheques and the trustee can't be discharged till that happens. My case has been in the closures department for at least a month. The person I spoke to seemed shocked when I questioned the time scale of 6 months when other firms seem to be able to do it quicker.

Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!

Yes indeed I Have just had the same excuse.Cheques sent out on 31st July have to give the creditors about a month to cash them, seems strange to me but that appears to be the way things are done. Is that the way it works, Mark, or any other persons in the know ?
cheers

Hi scotland28

It depends who the creditors are. If it is mainstream banks, creditcard companies etc, then these are normally cashed quickly. In fact a BAC payment system is in operation for the majority of creditors, so it should not really be an issue.

My cheques went at the beginning of July and apparently still haven't been cashed. If someone gives me a cheque, I'm faster than Usain Bolt getting it into the bank. Clearly if I have creditors who can't cash a cheque in a month then they obviously don't need the money from me. They should do the decent thing. Give it back and pretend our arrangement never existed[;)].
