Hi,
I entered a trust deed last April with KPMG, I've had a couple of changes of circumstances which I informed them of. Everything has been fine, and now they want a copy of 2 pay slips and a recent bank statement. That's not a problem, the only thing I am concerned about is that my partner transfers money to my account quite frequently, although part of this money is used towards household costs (which was accounted for at the beginning of my trust deed) most of it is basically extra he has put in my account to cover xmas, birthdays, etc. he has 2 daughters who he has access to half the week, some of this money is also used to buy them things, clothes, food, including xmas birthday costs, (which my partner relys on me to purchase, as I don't mind). I am just worried incase they look at this as additional income which this certainly isn't as i just manage to get by most of the time. He always finds it easier to transfer money to my account rather than give me the cash, which i didn't have any problems with until now .

Give them payslips and tell them bank statements aren't available, my review only asked for a note of the balance in my account so I don't think they need to see every transaction they just need to know you don't have ยฃ 20,000 stashed away....

Welcome to the forum adexxx.

I can see where WIKIKEE is coming from, but I don't think there's any need to hide anything.

It's obviously up to your trustee, but I doubt that they'll worry how you and your partner organise your household financial affairs provided that nothing substantial has actually changed with your income or your expenditure.

The request for information is quite normal, although you should avoid withholding paperwork.

There should be no issue with the money being transferred as although your partner contributes towards the household expenses etc, there is or hint to stop them using their own money for whatever they like as they are entitled to spend their own money.

I'm 3 payments away from completing a TD with KPMG (Hurray!) and I have found them to be pretty easy to deal with (unlike some others that have posted here). I found that explaining things like this to them over the phone and backing it up with writing always elicited a response from them (again, in writing) to maintain my payments as they were.

Glad that's over with....

Hi adexxx,

As Mark has said this type of request is pretty normal from a Trustee and I'd always advise being transparent.

In reviewing bank statements it's easy for a Trustee to verify that the client hasn't received any significant sum of money into their bank account i.e. lottery wins or PPI compensation payments etc. From time to time things are picked up in bank statements which wouldn't normally be picked up.

The transferring of money between partners bank accounts is actually pretty common and I'm sure your Trustee is used to seeing this when reviewing bank statements. I'd send the bank statement in with a covering letter explaining the transactions and that should be the end of the matter.

Not long now upstream, 3 payments to go. I bet you can't wait! I'll look out for your post confirming you have made your final payment and are awaiting your Form 5.

Sorry wasn't suggesting you hide anything just wondered if as you know the circumstances it would be easier than trying to explain things, however the Trustees on here know more about how they should work but at the risk of getting backs up not how they all work.......unfortunately!
