Hi there

wondering if you can help. I failed to keep up my trustdeed and now they want me to pay the outstanding balance of 1900 or face bancrupsy. as i had kept payments up for almost 2 years bancrupsy is not the answer. My partner has offered to pay the outstanding balance with the a credit card. will they accept payment from a credit card?

Hi facexmas

I think the Trustee will be delighted to take the payment, but not sure if they will be able to take it via a credit card as few companies have the facilities.

In general, there's no problem, but you'd need to check if they have a credit card facility.

Wee bit of an update, after my meeting i requested an email/letter just explaining how things would work with repayments, house survey (which i was told would get done the same weekend) etc etc would work. I emailed the potential trustee asking for this a few days after our meeting, got a reply saying it will be done that evening.

That was a week ago, not heard anything re survey, re letter explaining the terms or anything.

I made it clear i would not be signing anything until i knew the result of the possible equity. Is this going against me???

Is this normal? Thought things may have moved a bit quicker than this with at least some contact. A wee bit concerned, i am going to email again now with a reminder but i don't have "good vibes" anymore about this particular company.

Thoughts appreciated.

Thanks

Hi giving up.

It's important that you have good vibes about any company you select to provide such an important service to you.

It might be worth making a phonecall to the contact you originally met. Hopefully there will be a good reason for the situation being where it is currently.

I cannot imagine that the fact that you want clarity is holding things up; most good trust deed providers like it when a client takes an interest in how everything works because there is then much less scope for misunderstandings later.
