my other half has been advised to take a trust deed with a debt of 12,000.
Now, she has been asked to stump up 150 a month,I know she can't afford that, she has not declared, mistakenly, she has a bus ticket of 130 a month.
She has not signed up anything yet, early stage, can she shop around ? she can afford 100 a month, advice is required please.
Hi scappa04 and welcome to the trust deed forum.
If you have a read of the thread started today by bigj75 I think you'll see how important it is not to commit to an unaffordable trust deed payment.
"Shopping around" may not be the most appropriate term as any trust deed provider has a responsibility to ensure that any client is paying what they can reasonably afford towards their debts each month. However, there may be minor differences in the assessments made by different firms and there is never any harm in speaking to more than one before making a final decision.
You may find that there are a pretty limited number of trust deed firms willing to take the case on at £100 per month I'm afraid. After paying a dividend to creditors and covering the costs and outlays of the case there would be very little left to cover their fees.
If there are no significant assets involved, and employment will not be affected, sequestration might be a more appropriate fit perhaps with that level of disposable income. It might be worth having a read of:

Hi, many thanks, can I email you or whatever ?
Hi scappa04.
Myself and my colleagues in the site advice team can be contacted by the "contact TDA" button in my signature or on the advice line phone number on the website if you'd like to go through things.
Hi Scappa04
Please do not sign anything if you are unsure of the payments, or you will find yourself in just as big a mess. It is unlikely you will be able to fund a Trust Deed with £100 per month, but you are able to fund a Sequestration(bankruptcy) and nominate your Trustee. You need to sit down face to face, and work out a sustainable income & expenditure.
