I received my form 5 yesterday yay!! I have checked my credit file and it says that my date of discharge was 24 September 2013, I applied for a credit card last night and was declined. All my dept seems to be on my file as in default still, how do I get them changed to settled so I can start rebuilding my credit??

Thanks x[:)]

Congratulations JLo - a great feeling I'm sure.

You're maybe being a bit hasty on the credit file front though - it will probably take several weeks before it is updated I imagine.

Thank you Kevin, I no this will take time but was just wondering if I need to contact my creditors to ask them to update my file or will they do it automatically as they now no my trust deed is complete.

I'm soo pleased that I am now dept free and look forward to re building my credit file.

Thanks again.

They should update it without any prompting, though I guess in practice this might not necessarily be the case for some of them.

Hi JL01983,

Well done on successfully completing your Trust Deed.

As Kevin said, your creditors might take a little bit of time to update the records. Monitor this and if need be chase round them to prompt them to update it.

The more proactive you can be the better and this might require you to chase round them.

How did you find the whole Trust Deed process?
