I have been discharged from my trust deed for over a year now, but I am still getting statements from one of the banks that was involved. How can I stop this . I have sent a letter with a copy of the discharge

Hi nugget_ufo

Firstly, 1st prize for most unusual username of 2014.

I'm assuming your trustee has also been discharged. If not, then they should be dealing with it. If they have then you'll need to continue to try & get to the right person to update their records. It's annoying, however there is nothing the creditor can do to legally pursue the debt.

Hi nugget_ufo,

It can be a little frustrating and annoying when you have completed the Trust Deed but still receive letters from your old creditors. I'm sure creditors are required to send you an annual statement each year so it could be this. It's probably the case that a box on their system hasn't been ticked which is why you are still receiving statements.

Send another copy of your discharge certificate recorded delivery to the data controller of the company and ask that they update their file. This should hopefully do the trick.
