Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help with info on my situation. I work as a Teacher in a promoted post and have been asked to be a signatory on the school account.
I am presently in a Trust Deed. Am I able to be a signatory? Do I need to disclose I am in a Trust Deed? Will there be any implications for being in a Trust Deed? There is nothing in my contract, and the Union do not think there should be an issue, however I wanted to see if anyone else knew or had experienced this issue. Grateful for any help and info. Thanks

I'm a principal teacher and have been in a TD for 18 months now. There have been absolutley no implications for me. I made the head teacher aware of it just to be on the safe side but it didn't affect anything in any way. I also have budget responsibilities and am still able to sign off on financial decisions.

Glad that's over with....

I am sure that this will not cause any problems from the bank's point of view. I guess it is possible that there may be something in the school's rules regarding the suitability of people as signatories, but would have thought that the union should be able to check this out.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. Would you know implications if I was sequestrated?

Hello Worried Teacher.

I think that the same considerations already mentioned would probably apply equally to sequestration.
