I am currently in a trust deed and will be for another 3 years.
can i claim any ppi from creditors that i had prior to my trust deed?
Only if you plan to give it to your trustee as it is 'acquirenda' = windfall. See, I'm learning things from this forum!
Glad that's over with....
Hi cheekystacey and welcome to the trust deed forum.
Upstream is correct. Any PPI payout during your trust deed will almost certainly have to be paid into your trust deed.
You should probably be aware also that making PPI claims after your trust deed (on accounts included in your trust deed) is unlikely to be fruitful.
You might want to make the claims anyway (or speak to your trust deed firm about it). You might not benefit, but at least financial institutions that missold the PPI will be held financially accountable for it.
Hi Cheekystacey,
Can I congratulate "upstream" on his answer which from a Trustee's point of view is correct.

I had a clause in my TD form saying that the IP may pursue PPI as amatter of course during the TD. Not that it will matter as I never paid any PPI
