Hi jojo93.

Can you explain a little more about the situation behind your question?

I want to make sure I fully understand it before answering.

what would happen to people who had trusdeed and ppi can someone tell me what would happen if the trustee got your trustdeed reduced or made void because of the ppi claim would you have to be be paying a contribution for 48 months if your trust deed is made void or reduced by a ppi claim would you be in a trust deed for 48 months or is the reduced if a trust deed reduced is that just for the final distribution.you will not be tied to a trust deed for 48months again

Hi Jojo93,

Is this a hypothetical question, or has something happened?

I leave TDA to answer properly, but my understanding is that a reduction would only be on the final distribution. You would not have to make any more payments.

For this to happen, a creditor or trustee would need appeal to the Court of Session, and there is no guarantee they would win.
They'd also need to be fairly sure of recovering a large sum of cash to cover legal fees/trustee fees/etc.

You would not be subject to the Trust Deed again for any length of time as I understand it, jojo93. It would just be your trustee's discharge that is made void, so they are back in office and can collect in the PPI. Your discharge remains unchanged.

My gut feeling is that this will not occur in the vast majority of cases anyway.
