hi my trust deed is supposed to be finished this jan but they wrote recently to say that beacause my father gave me £4000 for myself, my husband and son to attend his wedding which i informed them at the time they want proof of this, also my husband and myself had a joint bank account and he did some online betting they are trying to say this was to do with me but it was my husband and they need proof also, and one last thing they need £500 for preventing the sale of my house or something to do with this is this legal that i have to pay thankyou
Hi elainemilo
If you can show bank statements for the transfer of the funds from your father's account and a letter confirming it was for this purose, then I see no problem with this.
The online betting is a strange one as there is no restriction on this. I assume if your husband has an online account, they can provide details.
I'm guessing the £500 was agreed at the start to stop the house being revalued. A large number of firms do not charge this, however if this was agreed at the start, then unfortunately you will be bound by it as part of the proposal.

hi mark, sorry the money from my dad was for my oldest sons wedding in bali which i explained at the time i have managed to get copy of some of the flights also a copy of his wedding certificate from him, do you think this is enough proof for them, also the online betting i have bank statements from this company who paid out but they pay out for all different kinds of online betting companies so my husband is finding it difficult to get proof that it was him and not me, also i didnt know anything about them wanting £500 unitl my trust deed was nearly finished and i havent signed anything thankyou i think they are trying to prolong my trust deed, i have never missed a payment thankyou
Hi elainemilo.
A trustee is obligated to look into money that you receive during a trust deed.
I think just provide them as much documentation and explanation as you can. Hopefully that will resolve the matter in a way you consider to be fair. No matter what we say it's only your trustee can make that determination, so I think you'll just need to work it through with them.
I'd imagine your trustee would have documentation confirming that you agreed to this £500 if they are now asking for it. Perhaps you could ask them to supply you with a copy?
Hi elainemilo
How did the trustee dicover the £4,000? If it came from the bank statements, he will probably require sight of the account from which the funds were received.
As TDA says, it may be an idea to request the paperwork detailing the £500.
