My TD dropped off my credit file a few months ago and I have just been accepted for 0 % finance on a new car 🙂

Good for you WIKIKEE.

Thanks for sharing this as well. I'm sure many people that are currently in trust deeds, or who have recently finished one, will take some comfort from this.

So good to hear this, its such a struggle getting through the years in a trust deed, keeping up a front to everyone. Life after a TD does really exist

Hi WIKIKEE,

That's really positive and good to hear that you have been able to secure finance to buy a new car.

Thanks for taking the time to share this with the forum. It will give others reassurance that there is life after a Trust Deed.

Happy motoring

same here got a capital one platinum card when I thought the file was clear, only for me to find out 2 defaults were still on file with wrong info.

On the other hand tried a 0% and found it wouldn't go through, most likely due to info not cleared on one of the 3 credit reference agency files.

So yes there is light, and you are usually much more disciplined at the end of the 6 years.

Yes like I say there is light. A 3 year TD signed in 2008 should have been straightforward but was not without its issues. Some hard lessons learned and to be honest some days I thought I'd never get there. Even after TD settled there is the credit file to sort.....now to attack the mortgage....best advice I can give is if you are already in a TD this forum has a wealth of advice and information at your fingertips and if you are not in a TD yet but thinking of one, make sure you have EVERYTHING in writing, as even when you think you know what's happening you could still be wrong

Thanks again to everyone who posts

I was upfront with the guy and he said I might get declined for the 0% but ought to be offered something so was delighted to be accepted. Yes get your credit file updated and as the TD drops off after 6 years, shouldn't be an issue. Good luck

yes the good thing is I am down to 2 issues from 20 and I can see what the problem is which is half the problem, its such a pain sorting it all out but there is no option, and generally people in larger organisation have less knowledge of what the rules of trust deed are I have found.

So the rebuild goes on and I know that at absolute worst after mid November everything will be off
