Haven't posted on this forum since the early days of my trust deed, which seems like only yesterday but is in fact 3 years ago.

This site has been great, helped give me answers to questions that I wouldn't have thought about, giving support and showing I'm not on my own dealing with debts, and more importantly, introduced me to Mark McFadyen from Philip Gill, with whom myself and my husband both signed our trust deeds with.

My husband made his last payment last week and is just awaiting confirmation that he can cancel standing order, and then the wonderful Form 5 arrival.

Me? I have one more payment to make and that will be me at the end of my trust deed journey too.

The sense of relief knowing that the finishing line is in sight is unbelievable. I will continue to budget for absolutely everything, and start to save once all finished, something we have never been able to do.

Couldn't have done it without the help of Mark, he explained everything, it was all put in writing, and he didn't make us feel like aliens lol.

Will continue to check out the topics that pop up on this forum, others experiences do help the process.

Wow. That has passed quickly lizs!

Congratulations to both of you and also to Mark McFadyen (and his colleagues) for helping you to make this possible.

I'm sure other readers who are at the start of the process of sorting out debts that have become a problem would greatly value hearing your experience and insight in the future.

Thanks TDA. It has passed surprisingly quick. All I would say to others is thoroughly check out all available options, and ask a lot of questions to get the best option for your particular situation. I remember seriously bending Mark's ear when he first came out to see us, all worth it in end though.

Hi Lizs

Thanks for the kind words. Like you, I can't believe its 3 years.

The discharge and closure should be pretty quick as from memory there was nothing else to be dealt with after payment of the contributions.

Cheers Mark, notice it was another late night for you last night looking at the time you posted.

We have the house which was in negative equity at start of trust deeds, but that's all for hubby, so hopefully should be quick as you say.

Thanks again for all your help, oh you still haven't updated that profile picture of yourself yet lol.

I think you said I looked like Pat Nevin in the picture, rather than my natural George Clooney look in real life!

Absolutely Mark. Hence the reason an update of photo is most definitely required.
