Hi Jimbob,
That's fantastic to hear. Well done reaching the final stages of your Trust Deed.
The normal course of action is to get in touch with your Trustee just to confirm number of payments remaining and when you can cancel the standing order/direct debit.
Also ask them how long it will take for them to send you out your Form 5 Certificate of Discharge. This is your official completion certificate. You should expect to receive this within approx 4-6 weeks from your final payment but it could take a little longer due to everything that is ongoing.
Next thing to consider is your credit file and how this looks. You want to think about rebuilding this as it will help you in the long run. Check what the dates of default are and if they are quite a bit after when you entered the Trust Deed request the lenders to change this. Any default will stay on your credit file 6 years from when it went on and then fall off.
How have you found the whole Trust Deed process, is it something you would recommend to people struggling with debts?

Thanks for the info David. To anyone reading this with any reservations don't have, I know it is daunting but is worth it. I like most stuck my head up the proverbial for too long, juggling payments, dreading the postman coming to the door, every time he did i had cold sweats. I bit the bullet just under 4 years ago and called the scottish trust deed and the people couldn't be more helpful or nice non judgmental only looking for ways to help and what was the best options. Now with 2 payments to go i am finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
