Hi all

I have a Protected Trust Deed. I only work part time and one of my daughters has just left home to live with her father so my income has been slashed.

I now live with only one daughter in a three bedroom flat which costs £900 a month. Will I be forced to move to somewhere cheaper? Is there an acceptable amount per person or will I be allowed to continue to live here.

I cant tell you what's too much, but I had to negotiate with my trustee to allow £275 a month.

Hi yummymummy and welcome

I think the only person that can give you a defenite answer to this is yourTrustee. Your Trustee should take into account average rent for that area and your individual circumstances. You may have to justify why you need to stay in a 3 bedroomed flat - does your daughter still come over and stay at weekends or holidays etc?

If your income has been slashed, can you realistically afford to still live there? Be careful you don't end up getting yourself into rent arrers, or new debt for it!
