Hi all, I signed my PTD earlier this year and I have to say the relief has been imense.
My bug bear as they say is the ignorance and the shocking way you find it to secure employment. I chose TD rather than bankruptcy as I was aware that a PTD had a better upstanding in the job market. I am a mature student and to support myself and my son I have tried in vain to secure a job that would be suitable to work around homelife and uni.
I understand that banks etc would be difficult to approach but I have went through rigorous assessments from future employers to fall down at the finishing line with job offers beig withdrawn as they deem me a security risk having access to customers records! I have been so upset but not doubting my PTD but upset at people's attitudes as if it's the worst crime of the century.
Does anyone think that companies and people's attitudes will change? I have not ran away from my responsibility and I am learning a hard lesson which I am fully accountable for.
These companies all seen to be regulated with the FSA and I would love for them to take a more realistic approach to PTD's and realise that people want to make amends and have already suffered the anguish and distress without having to be made to feel like its a criminal offence. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been offered very different alternatives if I choose to accept new employment they are not ideal but that being said I am lucky in have been offered a job .

Hi Garfield1030.

We haven't heard from huge numbers of people that found a trust deed was a major impediment to finding work.

Having said that, financial services businesses might be more likely to have concerns than firms in other industries. The FCA requires them to have systems in place to control perceived risks.

I'm glad you have received other job offers.

As Trust Deed Assistant says it doesn't seem to be that common for problems like this to occur, but it does crop up on here from time to time. Seems to be less of an issue if already in a job, more something that could throw a spanner in the works during a recruitment procedure.

I hope everything works out for you.
