Last week I posted about a company I was unsure of. I've steered well clear and discussed matters with Trustdeedscotland.net, we went through income/expenditure and agreed what an appropriate payment would be each month.

I was told I would hear from TD company within 48 hours, I received information via email from TDscotland.net, but due to holiday weekend I didn't receive phone call until today.

As the information was already passed over, it was a short phone call to confirm some details already given and a few more questions to be answered. Due to my location, I will not be receiving a home visit, but documents will be sent in the post and I need to sign them and have them witnessed.

Is it really that easy?

Lots of people on here saying "ask as many questions as possible at the start", but I'm not sure what needs asking. I did have a couple of questions, and as they are quite serious I've asked for the response in writing.

Other than than, apparently my case is very straight forward. Am I right to feel wary about it all?

Also I see reference to companies and then to trustees, can someone please explain this? Is the TD company not the trustee? Do I have to satisfy the TD company who then deal with someone else on my behalf?

Hi saabrina

It's not the asking questions, it having straight honest answers and especially having those answers put in writing to ensure there is no confusion later on.

You should at all times deal with the insolvency practitioner direct. If you receive advice from the initial company and this is not verified by the Trustee, then there is little or no comeback.

You have me curious, where do you stay?

I live in the Outer Hebrides, can't call them bad scholars for not dropping in for a chat, not exactly easy to get here.

So, RSM Tenon being the IP are also the trustee?

I've been reading some conflicting posts on here which led me to believe there would be others to deal with

Nearly at the end of my trust deed and wish i had been given clear defined facts as to how my trust deed would run. looking back i would have asked to have had the content of phonecalls in writing, and an exact a-z detailed description as to how my trust deed would run for me, how many months and how many payments, what happens if you have missed payments and possible reductions due to curcumstances changing over the 3 years, what happens to any estate.it seems that the majority of trust deeds are delt with dependant on the individual and anything can change over three years, if you have a basic idea as to what to expect you wont end up worry throughout your trust deed. i would get all answers in writing rather than getting to the end of the trust deed going by what was "said".

Hi saabrina

If you are dealing with Tenon, then you'll be dealing direct with the Trustee, so I wouldn't anticipate any problems.
