Ok, I am about to rant!
Had a TD with PRG which was discharged (May 2014) before the transfer to Creditfix.
A letter was sent to my mum's address stating that my Trustee was changing. I didn't think anything of the change of Trustee as I have received my Form 5. But got to thinking why was paperwork sent there when I have already informed Creditfix of my new address.
Just found out my Trustee hasn't been discharged! I nearly fell off my chair. Seemingly the papers that have been passed from PRG to Creditfix are "fuzzy" (Creditfix man's words, not mine). And now I can't even get on to the AIB website to check what the blinking nora is going on!!!!
Also, according to CF a TD can be left open for a infinite amount of time!
So not only is my paperwork from PRG fuzzy, Creditfix can't update a database and my TD is being kept open for PPI (which I have none).
So after my rant to the poor man on the other end of the phone, my TD is being passed for closure asap and Trustee discharged.
Rant over [:(!]
Hi Neverendingstory.
You're welcome to have a rant.
"Fuzzy paperwork" is perhaps the strangest reason we've heard for a delay yet!
A trustee isn't obligated to discharge themselves quickly following your discharge. They'll take the time they need to do the work that they need to do. Often it seems that this work isn't the highest priority either.
It's your discharge that's really important - which fortunately happened a long time ago.
I think most trustees would feel morally obligated to discharge their client relatively quickly after completing their obligations. I don't think many trustees would consider they have any moral obligation to their client to discharge themselves soon after that.
Och I know but it was such a shock! Anyway like you say, I am discharged so I suppose my Trustee's discharge is not so important!
