Hi there,

just signed my trust deed with Philip Gill & Co.
Mark did a great job explaining all things in great detail and is a very approachable person.
so, now i'm sitting and waiting for the next stage.
i hope all will go smoothly and i can have a life again
i have debts of around ยฃ18,000 and proposed to pay ยฃ270 per month, which is making things a lot easier than paying nearly ยฃ600 every month.
so, fingers crossed and all that

Hi strid3r,

Its a nice feeling isn't it, knowing that their is light at the end of the tunnel. I've got 3 weeks left to wait and I'm beginning to get nervous as the letters etc are beginning to come through the door. Don't know what I'd do if the whole thing failed

Well done for taking a hold of your finances and hope it all goes well for the next 3 years. I found the first 6 months a bit stressful. That was just because creditors continued to contact me about missed payments. It didn't really matter though because I knew that my trust deed was protected and just sent all the correspondence to my trustee. They dealt with everything. One thing I had suggested to me was changing my phone number. That way, they can only write to you and you won't get loads of phone calls from collection agencies. Make sure you keep in touch with your trustee - they're there to help you. You'll have a better relationship with them if you keep them informed about everything.

Three years will zoom past. It'll be hard but not as hard as trying to pay off debts that you can't afford.

Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!

Welcome to the forum strid3r.

Congratulations on having taken this major step.

I'm sure everything will progress smoothly to "protection" from here; please let us know how it goes.

Hi there,
there clock's ticking now, as the TD proposal has been enter into the Gazzette. It was a funny feeling reading it, kinda making it reality. Anyway, the calls are coming in now off some of the creditors, and some letters, too. i think i'll take gillian's advise and change my mobile number. although, for now i just blocked those dreading numbers. feeling a lot better, knowing that a big load has been lifted off me. thanks for your help, Mark

Hi strid3r

Thanks for the kind comments. I don't forsee any problems at all as it looks straightforward. (easy for me to say I suppose)

If you receive any calls at all, take a number and reference. We have a team in Ireland who deal solely with creditor claims and can normally stop any hassle you're getting.

Regards

Mark

Hi strd3r.

Thanks for letting us know about your progress.

What's the expected protection date for your trust deed?

Hi both

9 September. Don't get too hung up on the protection thing though. I see no reason why we won't get 100% agreement from creditors.

Thanks for answering the question for me, Mark. i'm not gonna pin you on the date, and i'm not too worried about a few days either way. i think Maria said it was to be the 14th, but i'm sure you'll have the right date for me. the main reason i would want the protection confirmed is that, so far i've been messing up too many things, and i want to get this one right and sorted for good. even my IBS problems have calmed down to a great extend. my advice to everyone, address and sort out your problems and it will do wonders to your mental health as well as physical.
Thanks

Cheers strid3r

Don't worry, the paperwork for protection will be sent on that date.

Good advice strid3r, but sometimes the problem is getting good advice.

Best regards

Mark

not too many calls or letters coming in at the moment.
although, my (old) bank has now written to me to inform me that my accounts have been frozen. strangely enough, a few days ago, they wrote to me, stating that they agreed on an overdraft. i thought that was quite funny, as it looks like they did it only so they can justify putting charges onto my account and still take out some payments.
however, i called them and asked to close the account altogether. seems they want you to turn up in person at the branch to do so.
well, it means at least that they have read my notice in the gazette.

Hi strid3r.

We certainly do hear about some strange communication from banks in the period running up to protection!

As you seem to be well aware already it doesn't look like anything to worry about. It's just your bank moving the same debts around different accounts which will not affect your overall position (or benefit them).

well, just one more week, i think, before the TD might become protected. i can't believe time past this quickly.
so, it's ok to destroy and return the bank cards to them as they requested? not that i'll be using them for anything anyway.

No point in keeping them if you don't need them strid3r.
