My husband and I are both discharged from our TD's and had our letters both by end of last year. Can we sell our property i.e. will the notice of inhibition have been recalled? Panicking now as I read something on AIB that said you couldnt sell for up to 5 years after you have been discharged!! Help!!

Hi susie

Yes you should be fine to sell. It's a condition of issuing Form 5 that the inhibition is lifted.

I've never heard of any 5 year rule on selling.

I was just worried that there might still be something registered I have checked the ROI and we are both discharged but there isnt a date for the trustee discharge - they are still investigating PPI. We both have our letters and Form 5 conifrming discharge. So nothing is likely to come up with our solicitor then to prevent us selling? So worried...

It shouldn't be an issue susie.

Perhaps you could reassure yourselves by checking with the trustee that the inhibition has been lifted?

Hi both

There's no need to check as Form 5 cannot be issued in a post 2008 case unless the inhibition has been lifted.
