I got a phone call out of the blue today from a representative from the Scottish Trust Deed saying i need to pay them £20 per month as some kind of insurance policy to cover sickness etc. I was told this was included in my expenditure calculated by KPMG. They also said they work alongside KPMG but KPMG never told me about this.
Is this the normal thing to happen?.

I would be very wary of this. My advice would be to only deal with written requests from your trustee and certainly reject any request for 'insurance' payments.
