Hi TDA

To be honest, we got one before Xmas although it just seems to burn everything and fried eggs just slide onto the kitchen top!!

Mark

PS Jean also calls it the George Formby Grill, although she also did ask me if David Beckham once played for Imax!!

Mark is not posting regularly in the Trust-deed.co.uk forum.

I was told that an element for regular savings is built into the income/expenditure, but it certainly wasn't on mine!

Hi Trixie1980.

Were there no allowances for things you didn't have to buy every month?

Fried egg, you'd need to be George Formby to pull that off!

Before the award of sequestration, we were worried about managing Christmas and started buying saver stamps in Morrisons. Good thing was at Christmas, we only needed to spend £1 of the amount and the rest was given back in cash. Have started again now were in sequestration and it will definitely help with the MOT and tyres which need to be replaced in a couple of months. I assumed it was ok to buy these stamps from monthly groceries budget even tho it is really savings?

Hi TDA,

Nope, nothing built in unfortunately. I had a clothing's allowance built in, but I would struggle if I were to buy anything for myself, so that generally goes on food. I think I mentioned before that my husbands TD leaves him with £100 a month so I have had to give up clothes etc to put food on the table.

🙁

It's obviously necessary to make allowances for things that, while not purchased every month, will have to be purchased at some point during the term of a protected trust deed (or a sequestration or debt arrangement scheme).

It follows that putting this money aside makes sense so that it doesn't end up being consumed by general everyday spending.

I cannot remember ever reading a thread here where someone that had set aside modest amounts of savings each month, from their agreed allowances, was later asked to pay the money over.

Savings, mmm,my TD said anything spare over £200 I would have to declare, which I thought was rather unreasonable, doesnt allow for the little emergencies,so what I did I asked a family member to open an account in there name and gave them the money,so it shows I have no savings, only way I can manage.
