Following my complaint to wilson andrews regarding the final review on my trust deed, i have recieved an unsurprisingly disapointing response.

I guess my main grievance was the computer generated valuation they gave me for my car for £1690. I questioned this much to the annoyance of the trustee and i also sent him a garage valuation for the car for £800, i have also done a computer generated quote online which values the car the same as the garage. The letter i recieved today states the trustee would like to draw my attention to the point that he is legally within his rights to realise the full value of any asset over 1,000, however he has made the decision to only realise any amount in excess of 1,000. He then goes on to say he is offering to sell me the car for 600 pounds, but i have the chance to buy it back for 600 pounds, or he can sell it to someone else. I dont really get what he means and for once i am lost for words. My arguement is still that the car is only worth at most 800 pounds so therefor shouldn't be seen as an asset, it is like talking to a brick wall. Is there anything else i can do it seems really unfair and just an excuse for my trustdeed yet again. Any help much appreciated.

It sounds like your trustee has climbed down, anniefun, or am I misunderstanding? They wanted £1600 before and now want £600? Might be the best outcome you can expect to get I'm afraid.
I see where you are coming from in that you feel it is worth less than £1000 and should be ignored altogether, however it is really up to the trustee and at least they have compromised to a large extent

Hi kevin thanks for reply, they haven't compromised at all they originally wanted 495 for the car, but then put it up to 600 pounds because they valued the wrong car, they are disregarding the first 1000 which i understand is the norm for trustdeeds. i really dont think i should have to pay it as the car is worth under 1000,and therefor shouldn't be considered an asset. although i did ask them to meet me half way between my garage valuation and their computer one. I also offered to take it to a garage of his choice for a second valuation, all of which i was refused. If you valued someones car on parkers and they disputed it and sent you in a garage valuation how would you deal with it. soz to be a pest, but i would be interested to know if other trustees would accept garage valuation over computer generated one. Thanks again.

Hi anniefun.

Hopefully one of the experts will visit the forum soon and explain how their company would look to establish the value of a car.

It does seem a little strange that there is such a difference between the online valuations that you and the trust deed company have obtained as you'd normally expect these to be similar.

Did the online valuation you completed ask you to describe the condition of the vehicle? I think they sometimes do? You may wish to ask your Trustee what condition they entered into the online valuation tolol they used if this is the case.

thanx for the reply trust deed assistant, i did the online valuation with we buy any car.com. they ask questions about the condition of the car etc and as i said before the value was 840 inline with the gargage valuation of 800. The parkers website the trustee used i also went on and no questions were asked about condition of vehicle. As you say hopefully one the trust deed experts will give me their opinion soon. thanks againxx

Hi again anniefun.

Webuyanycar.com are known to offer/pay less than might be achievable elsewhere for vehicles. They pretty much acknowledge this in the emails sent after doing a valuation with them, though they highlight also the benefits for people of avoiding the time and hassle involved with arranging a private sale.

The condition of the car itself seems very relevant to all of this, especially if Parkers does not take that into account.

couldn't agree more trustdeed assistant the condition of the car is very poor as i haven't been able to maintain it as i probably should have due to lack of funds to do so. For example i have a shoe lace holding up the exhast just now lol i know i shouldn't laugh but if i didn't i would cry. thanks for your help i'm still waiting for one of the trustdeed experts to give me their opinion.x
