Hi Folks,

Just a quick question if u don’t mind answering or commenting please, I am looking at going down the DAS route but will need to look at going into to rental property not long after applying, Will this effect my ability to pass agents credit checks or will the checks only show CCJ etc?

Sorry if this has popped up before but couldn’t see anything from previous.

Dazza

Your debts are likely to be marked as in "default" on your credit file, which could affect your chances of getting a tenancy I'm afraid. Whether it would be a problem in practice will depend upon the policy of the letting agents you approach.

I moved a couple of times during my trust deed. My father acted as a guarantor for rent so that my bad credit file did not stop me getting a tenancy. Do you have anybody who would be a guarantor for you?

When you moved fcwalker did it come up about the Trust Deed and did letting agents look for the guarantor or did you volunteer the information up front?

I didn't tell them about the trust deed directly but was told that they would do a credit check so I gave them my father's details as a guarantor (with his permission obviously!)
