Can anyone help. My protected trust deed is due to end in November this year. I am expected to release around 8.5k from the equity in my house but this is proving a major problem as it means the remortgage against value would be more than 75% of the value of the property. Is it possible to extend a trust deed so that I can pay the sum off over a longer period say 2 years or more? If anyone has had a similar problem I would be grateful for any advice. I certainly don't want to lose my home but really want to pay the money required. John

Hello Johna33

It may be a good idea to talk to your Trustee about the possibilty of extending your trust deed, this is something trustees will be used to dealing with.

It is usually possible to extend the term of the trust deed to pay off equity - though I imagine it may be difficult to extend for more than say 2 years, and it really is at the discretion of your trustee, who may look to gauge your creditors' opinions.
