Been a while since posted, however, thought it might be helpful to share our experience re remortgaging. We waited the full 6 years from signing TD to eventual fall off from credit report. ( we were 3 year TD). Kept an eye on credit reports to ensure it was no longer visible then started process. Mega anxious re same but pleased to say secured and recently completed remortgage with high street lender..We did use a broker and I was very dubious and to be honest a little paranoid as really didn’t think it would be possible. Clearly it is .. hope that’s helpful to folks thinking of heading down same route .
Hi cal.
Good for you. You must be delighted and relieved?
Thanks for sharing this information. I think examples such as yours must help people who are weighing up whether to take the first steps necessary to address the debts that they have.
Hi Cal,
Glad to hear it all went smoothly and without any problems.
A really positive and encouraging post for others to take confidence from that there is life after a Trust Deed but it just takes a little time for everything to fix itself.
Thanks for coming back onto the forum to share the update.

very reassuring to know. can I ask how long did it take for your TD to fall off?? we are due for ours to fall off next Nov/Dec 2018 which will mark 6 years since signing a 3 year TD in Nov 2012. We would like to re-mortgage at some point too and keen to know how long after the original sign date did it disappear?
thanks Suzie

That's great, Cal. Thanks for sharing.
Suzie28 - I'm sure Cal can confirm their own experience too, but it should be 6 years from the start of the TD that it disappears.
Sorry for delay in replying Suzie28..Kevin is right .. 6 years after start of trust deed. We waited about 6 weeks after this past for any updates to be added to credit reports. I got caught up in what my credit score was and let me tell you it was not up there as fantastic which made me think this remortgage would not be possible. However, lenders clearly have their own criteria re scores.. don’t get trapped into thinking you need to have a mega high number....good luck when your turn comes .
Hi cal if possible would you be anle to tell me what broker you used? Thanks
