Can anybody out there help or advise. We are still in a trust deed but now it is the equity we are paying. My husband has due to ill health and stress has had to opt to take a lower paid job, therefore a reduction in wages.I have been in touch with the trustee regarding this and has yet to get back to me.What is likely to happen ? Will we still be expected to pay, we have been in the trust deed since 2009.Getting a bit stressed myself regarding this, just want it all to been over and done with.Feel as we are living a life sentence.

Hi lorrainek.

You cannot rightly be asked to pay money that you haven't got.

If your payment has to be reduced there might well be an extension to the term to repay the equity.

If it's no longer possible to make a payment, or a payment that will realistically quickly clear the equity, you'll need to discuss the way forward with your trustee.

You case may possibly be stronger and more sympathetically received if you can provide some medical confirmation that your husband has had to make this decision.

How much do you still have to pay, lorrainek? And how much can you afford?
