Hi
Finished my trust deed successfully over a 3 years ago. Have been looking at my credit report. All default dates with RBS are wrong.
According to ICO regulations they should have been defaulted when I entered into my Trust Deed. I have written to the Data Controller at RBS
twice without a response. This is affecting my credit score.
What can I do?

SC

Hi FIFEROVER.

Giving RBS an opportunity to resolve this was the right thing to do.

If they fail to do that within a reasonable period of time you may need to take the matter to the Information Commissioners Office.

Loads of addresses come up online FIFEROVER, though I cannot see anything on their own website.

I'm not sure that it matters really though, if you send this to an RBS office I'm sure it becomes their responsibility to get the message to the right place.

Does it make that much of a differnce to the credit report , as a trust deed will show on the credit report anyway?
It may look better but will it change lenders thinking.

The date of defaults makes a huge difference if your td drops off after 6 years and defaults have been put on 3 years after the td started your credit file is messed up for 3 years more than need be. Incorrectly dated defaults wont sort themselves.

Agreed , you have the facts those are your weapons , change the info through an credit check etc , and look at your future not the past .

You, can take control on this . Failing that I have a very cost effective hitman , LOL .

So should the credit report state that all debt you had entering the trust deed should show satisfied at the date you entered the trust deed or the date of discharge.
