I logged onto the AIB site to check if my trustee had discharged themselves yet. They hadn't. I was discharged in March 2014.

One thing I did notice when in there was it stated "Exclusion of family home" - False.

When I signed my trust deed, my trustee stated he had no interest in my home as there was little or no equity. I'm planning to sell and move home this year, I'm hoping I won't hit any hidden snags and this flag on the AIB record is nothing to worry about?

Small correction to what I posted above. I had to pay ยฃ500 to release their interest in my property, which I paid in the first couple of years of my TD. I still have the receipt and paperwork for all of this.

While checking the paperwork. I also noticed a reference to an Inhibition. It did say he had requested for that to be released. Is there anyway I can check this for myself?

Hi mapleleaf.

I don't think you have anything to worry about here.

As far as I know the trustee needs to release the inhibition prior to issuing your Form 5.

The "Exclusion of family home" record on the Register of Insolvencies is a bit of a red herring. It's a very unique and specific process which I understand is hardly ever used.

You can check the Register f Inhibitions by contacting the Registers of Scotland, however as Trust Deed Assistant says the inhibition has to be discharged as part of your own discharge process.
