Hi,

I completed payments to my PTD in March 2011 but have never been discharged as it has now been sent for PPI Audit. Anytime I have asked my Trustees they cannot give me a time frame on how much longer it may take. They are also still drawing down fees for it, which I would have assumed were no longer payable on completion. Can anyone advise on this please?

It certainly seems like an inordinately long time to wait - did they give you any reason why it hasn't been done sooner.

Hi,

Thanks for the responses.

I signed for the PTD on the 14th May 2007 and had it confirmed in February this year that it was completed in March 2011.

No reason has been given other than it was taken for Audit and is outwith their hands.

My biggest concern is that it should have been removed from my credit file by this time but will now take another 3 years.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi again.

These days people can be discharged while a trustee carries on with PPI claims.

I can't recall the exact date when this changed, but it wasn't applicable in 2007 when you signed. Your trustee cannot discharge you until the claims process is finished.

I'd want to understand the source of delay. Was the trustee slow to start the process? Has the claims operator been inefficient? Or is the delay because of some of the poor behaviour by banks we hear about trying to evade their responsibilities in this respect?

Whichever way you look at it, it seems very unfair on you.

The trust deed should have dropped off your credit file last year by the way. It should only stay for six years.

Are you saying that it's still showing?

Hi,

Having checked my full credit report i can see it has dropped off, thankfully.

I am trying to contact the trustees again for a further update/explanation.

Thanks for the responses.
