Hi TimeLord.

Checking some documentation about assets isn't unusual.

Is there any question over the ownership of the vehicle?

No, not really in wouldn't have thought . They sent me a rather aggressive letter today asking for the originals and asking me to sign an agreement that I will keep said vehicle until end of trust deed. However, you may recall I traded it for a smaller vehicle of the same value in May, a decision on took on the advice of my TDA, whose name is NOT on the letter. This is causing me some concern....

This is quite normal. Most Trustees will ask for the v5. Does the document you mention regarding your car, relate to you making sure you keep your car road taxed, MOT'd and insured for the trust deed period. It would usually state that you cannot get rid of the car without permission from your trustee. Many people do change their car, but they should contact their trustee first. I wouldn't think it is anything to worry about.

Shona is not currently posting in the Trust-Deed.co.uk forum.

Hi TimeLord,

As TDA and Shona have said the checking of documents is not unusual and nothing to be concerned about, we're certainly not trying to catch anyone out.

I'm sorry if the letter we sent came across as aggressive, it certainly wasn't intended to come across like that.

If you'd like to talk things through with someone first then please email me your reference number and I'll arrange for someone to contact you. You can find the email address via the 'contact us' section of our website.

I hope this helps to put your mind at rest.

Thank you

Ian Williams - a member of the team at Wilson Andrews
