Hi homp

The Register of Insolvencies should be updated once your Trustee is discharged, as long as the Accountant in Bankruptcy has received the relevant information.

In all honesty I'm not sure how long the information remains on the Register.

does it stay on my credit rating for 5 or 6 years? I have heard some people say 5, others 6. but from from when i.e. date of signed trust deed or when it became protected?

Hi homp.

Anything that goes onto your credit record stays there for six years.

That will be from around the time that your trust deed was signed but may not exactly match it.

If you get a copy of your credit record homp you should be able to see for certain.

The dates of any relevant events should be apparent there.

Hi homp.

As far as I'm aware there is no new entry made for a completed trust deed.

still not heard anything from my (previous) trustee.

I received my letter of discharge nearly 10 weeks ago and not heard anything since (i.e. how my payments were distributed).

Any idea what the delay could be?

Thanks

Hi homp.

I'm unsure why you would not have heard further, but if you're curious I doubt there's any harm in calling up and asking about this.

thanks, will do.

One other question - A Trust deed stays on your record for 6 years. is that 6 years from date of signing or from the date it became protected?

Thanks

I think it's around the time of signing homp, but I doubt that it's very exact.

UPDATE!!- I have today received my final letter from my trustee.

They have advised that there are "insufficient funds available to enable payment of a dividend to any class of creditor"

Surely this cant be legal??? This is redicoluous!!

The trust deed was signed over 6 years, so can my creditors still pursue?

H.

Hi homp.

This means that all of the contributions you made have been used to settle the trust deed fees and outlays. They may have been higher than initially expected as everything has been running along for a long time.

As I think you have completed your trust deed and have been discharged you have met your responsibilities and the debts no longer exist. As such, there's nothing for you to worry about as far as I can see.
