I have been in a protected trust deed for over 1 year, yesterday i received a phone call from a company located in the building as my trust deed company informing me that they wish to collect future payments.

They tols me that the company i use had passed my information onto them.

Is this Legal?

Welcome to the forum bill.

On the surface of it, it seems a little unusual. However there may be a very innocent explanation.

Without further detail it's very difficult to make any comment though. It's obviously up to you whether you'd like to share any more information which would help us to say more.

You're certainly right to be cautious about this until you understand what's going on.

Hi Bill

I would ask them to give you something in writing explaining the situation

Thank you folks for your prompt reply,

Basicaly the caller said they shared a buliding with my trust deed company and they suspected that the trust deed company was so busy that they passed my information onto them for collection.

That just feels uncomfortable bill.

You may wish to write to your trust deed firm telling them about the call and asking them to confirm that your payment details should change.

I wouldn't do anything without getting some kind of written confirmation as tinsoldier has already suggested.

Hi Bill

Who is your trustee as this sounds extremely unusual.

Mark

Mark is not posting regularly in the Trust-deed.co.uk forum.
