Hi blackpanther and welcome to the trust deed forum.

It's quite worrying that you've signed a lot of paperwork without fully understanding where you are in the process.

Have you heard from the trust deed firm at all?

Did you sign an actual trust deed document that you remember?

Hi blackpanther.

I might be missing something obvious, but I'm not familiar with any firm providing trust deeds called Knightsbridge. I think there may be a debt management company by that name.

I'd suggest you get in touch with them to confirm exactly what the situation is as soon as you can.

If you're feeling confused you may wish to double check things with a different adviser. Trust deeds and debt management plans aren't things to go ahead with until you fully understand everything. Most advisers would double check you understood everything before asking you to sign anything.

As I say blackpanther, I may be missing something.

Are you sure that's the name of the trust deed firm?

Hi blackpanther

I have heard of this company, I believe they are a debt management firm, who refer to an IP. I have only had one dealing with this firm, and hate to say it was not a good one for the client concerned. Unfortunately, there are firms who get the paperwork signed so quickly, you don't have time to think. This being the case, some of them hold onto the paperwork until you have made a few payments ( to cover their initial costs!). If you have not paid anything yet, they may still cancel everything if you tell them you have changed your mind......it is worth a try, but do it asap. This does not happen with reputable firms, as things are explained fully first, and only then do you sign the paperwork. Let us know how you get on.

We know Kelsom and the advertised website you mention blackpanther.

It's the name of the trust deed firm you mentioned which is unfamiliar to me.

That makes sense blackpanther.

I'd suggest you contact them soon so that you can confirm whether you've actually signed a trust deed, and if so, with which firm.

Maybe it hasn't gone that far yet, though I (like you) would want to know exactly where things stand.

No problem blackpanther.

Just remember you are not fully committed to a trust deed until you have signed the actual trust deed document itself.

Make sure you know exactly how everything will work (and you have that in writing) before you sign. It's the best way to avoid unpleasant surprises later.

Hi blackpanther
Kelsom and Trust Deed Scotland are one and the same, they are a trust deed introducer who take your initial details etc and pass you on to an IP firm. I went through Trust Deed Scotland and for a 30 minute phone conversation they receive an introduction fee of £800 from my Trustee. I had a text message from them last week telling me if I recommended my friends to them for a trust deed I'd get £100 for each successful application. Seems a bit wrong to me.
