i have just recieved notice of ppi payment of 8k,they say it will go toward outstanding loan it was so long ago that i hadnt heard anything so presumed i had not been succesful.i have read about firms going for ppi after ptd is nearly finished should i inform them now and as i have just become protected will this affect me even if i will not recieve any money personally; as i say it was long ago that i totally forgot about it

You should inform your trustee about this as they will need to communicate with the creditor involved. I don't see why it should affect your own position at all.
