Sound like a man who wants his cake and eat it, but even after receiving f5s my wife and I were told by trust deed company they were passing my file over to company called "turndebtaround" to pursue PPI claims. PPI claims were never mentioned when we started ptds in 2011. Anyway fulfilled all obligations asked for by turndebtaround ie replying to all claims forms sent by banks etc etc. Well, don't you just know it, upheld claims from Lloyd's, BOS,and others. Wait for it,£10440 of claim money sent direct to claim company. Where do I stand. Called trust deed company, "so sorry, every penny goes to the same creditors who stuffed me and good lady for added PPI.". Thoughts anybody,am I being niece and greedy. Don't hold back.
Depends if the trustee discharged himself , when you where discharged , he could have discharged you , but remained in office to chase PPI.
Hi needsmust.
Bad news I'm afraid. Your trustee (every trustee) is expected to investigate PPI claims to see if more of what is owed to creditors can be repaid to them.
They can discharge you while they get on with it. Provided they haven't discharged themselves, the cash will go into the trust deed then onto your creditors.
Hi needsmust,
I can understand why anyone would feel the same as you when such large sums of money are involved but unfortunately like TDA has advised any PPI payment will be ingathered into your Trust Deed and used to pay back a bigger percentage of your debts.
If you and your Trustee had been discharged then it would have been a different story and you would probably have received the funds.

Thanks for confirming my PPI question. Never really thought I had any chance of seeing any of the refunds but just had to ask all the same.
Always worth asking the question needsmust as you never know. If you don't ask you don't get

Hi needsmust
As mmentioned before, there is an obligation for Trustees to puruse for PPI, however from a number of other posts on the forum, it appears tha these matters are only being looked at towards the end of the Trust Deed rather than through the administration of the trust deed itself.
I know from experience in Trust Deed cases that PPI payments can be paid fairly quick or take a lot longer, especially if the matter is referred to the ombudsman, but nevertheless, the sensible thing would be to look at these at the start or at least in the middle, rather than leave it till the end.

I was finally discharged along with my trustee 2yrs ago after using retirement money to make a final offer which was accepted, previous to this I was obliged to apply for any outstanding Ppi claims through a trustee authorised company these claims were rejected. I have now been offered some money from one of the banks involved as they have reassess this , has either my trustee or my creditors any claim on this money now?
Hi Toddytwo.
Almost certainly not.
We have heard a couple of times recently about trustees potentially seeking to reopen a trust deed to gather such an asset in. That's rare though, and by no means necessarily going to be allowed to happen.
