I suppose there is always the option of signing what they want you to sign and taking out a stand-alone insurance policy instead so that you are still covered for any misfortune that might happen.
Doesn't seem right though!
Do you not think it might be quite hard to find insurance for a loan secured on a house for someone with a TD and iI think the cost would be pretty high because of the circumstance but again how can you mis sell something that someone asked for it just doesn't seem right the trust deed has nothing to do with me
Hi Susan68.
I'm not certain that a trust deed would necessarily affect the premium.
The peril insured is a loss of employment rather than anything connected to the wider financial situation.
It's always sensible to disclose an insolvency when buying any insurance though.
Husband is going to call them again tomorrow and ask about complaints procedure as he feels I am being treated unfairly I don't think I'm being unreasonable wanting the protection to stay in place surly I have rights and a say in what I sign
I think you can be assured that a senior person will review this carefully if a complaint were made by your husband Susan68.
It's always difficult to offer a view when you don't have all of the information, but something doesn't quite feel right about this as you've described it.
Do you think if I spoke to them it would make a difference I tried to speak to the ppi claims company but the girl refused to speak to me she just kept saying can you put your husband back on the phone should I make a complaint I'm not sure what to do
My husband phoned today got name of trustee has written a letter of complaint they have 8 weeks to reply will keep you posted
