Welcome to the forum Susan68.

Nobody should try to have you complete a statement that you believe to be incorrect. To me, that sounds like it's crossing a line towards fraud if they're aware of your view.

Having said that, I don't see how you can be expected to sign this form anyway if you've nothing to do with the trust deed.

Your husband may need to set out these facts and concerns to his trustee (who has employed the PPI claims company).

My husband and I have both explained this verbally and in writing that I do not wish to peruse ppi on this account but the woman was adamant and said we were being aggressive because I said I would not sign

In the event of PPI being awarded for the Joint Account, then only half the money should be added to the TD, you would be entitled to 50%.

I think that's not necessarily true Diamond Chap, though we have seen cases work like that in practice here. It does seem like the fair way to handle this.

Hi Susan68.

The fact that you want the policy to remain in force seems very important here.

Does the woman you spoke with work at your trustee's office or at the PPI claims firm?

When my PPI was being pursued, one of the accounts was Joint and my partner had to co-sign the relevant document. My half went to the TD and my better half kept hers. Wasn't much, but it all helps.

The woman works for ppi company and I would much rather it stayed in place as I asked to have it in the first place and don't believe it was missold the company have given me what I asked for and as the loan is still ongoing if anything goes wrong I still have the security of it being in place and feel I should not be forced into sighning something I disagree with but don't want it to be held against my husband

I'm with TDA.
If you were happy and are still happy to keep the cover, that has to be the overriding factor.

Hi Susan68.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I think your husband needs to bring these concerns directly to the attention of his trustee (not the PPI firm, they're just working for the trustee).

I agree with Trust Deed Assistant - you cannot be expected to sign something that you feel is not true. If your husband makes the situation clear to his Trustee then I don't see how they can justify delaying his discharge.

Hi Susan68.

Your husband may wish to consider putting a formal complaint in to his trustee if you both consider this to be unfair.

The trustee might consider this to be reasonable, but equally they might be unaware that this advice is being given by their staff and might be uncomfortable with it.

Thank you seem to be going round in circles my husband said to the TD do you want me to physically make her sign and they said she must sign I feel as if I'm being bullied into doing something I don't want to do my husband said to the TD we seem to be at a stale mate what options do I have they said get her to sign I feel as if they want money at all costs no matter what my views are if my husband looses his job tomorrow I know the loan will still be paid and Iitwon't put my house on the line as long as the ppi is in place that is why I asked for it and my views won't change so don't know what to do as my husband is the one who is going to suffer with the TD always hanging over him
