I entered my Trust Deed in July 2008 and made the final payment August 2011. The Trust Deed discharge came through on 1 November 2011. I recently went onto several credit scoring sites, to view my current status. Of the five accounts involved, three appear as Unsatisfied, one is Not Received and the final declares the account as Defaulted. I have researched online for information about this and many say that the companies should have their account set to Satisfied.

My questions are;

Should the accounts be set to Satisfied? If so, what is the best means of achieving this?

What date should these accounts no longer be reported on? If they continue to be reported on after this date, what is the best way to get them removed from the credit report?

I made mistakes in the past and wish to move on into the future, in the best possible way. I would be so grateful for any help that I receive with this.

Thank you.

Hi Gemgem

Firstly, i'd like to say well done!

Secondly, a good idea may be to photocopy your discharge letter and send it to the various companies involved, and also the credit reference agencies.

Good luck

The defaults will be on file for 6 years from the date your TD became protected.

Sorry gemgem. I saw your post earlier and meant to dig out an article from last year but it slipped my mind:

For the accounts that default notices don't apply, I think the same principles should apply. By that I mean it should be clear that you no longer owe the money and further reporting should cease.

You may need to contact the creditors individually.
