Hi Everyone, I've just made my final payment today and I've been told I will receive my form 5 soon. I didn't know about this site until I was already in a trust deed but fortunately I ended up going with one I could trust, PGJ Recovery. Although my TD was moved to another company Creditfix, everything has gone as planned.
I just want to thank all the advisers on this site who have dispelled any fears I had during the process, and the companies themselves for honouring the terms of the deed.
I have read numerous posts from people that have made it to the end and always felt jealous that they had completed their TD. Well now I have, and I just want to pass on some advice to anyone thinking of starting a TD and to those still in one.
Firstly, make sure you go with a reputable company (preferably one that contributes to this site), and make sure you are clear about what it entails. Take your time when completing your income and expenditure form and arrange to pay your Td on the day, or the day after, you get paid. I never missed a payment and kept the company informed of any changes to my circumstances. If you follow the guidelines you signed then there should not be any surprises along the way.
It's not easy being in a TD and the first 6 months are the hardest as you adjust to not having the safety net of a credit card. But just remember it was the cards and loans that got you into the mess. Whenever times were hard I would remind myself of the debt I once had and how without the Td I would still have. This helped me through the tough times.
So good luck if you decide to go ahead. It was the best thing I have ever done and I will do everything I can to avoid accruing debt in the future. From now on its save then spend, and not spend then pay interest on it for years. x

That's a lovely post Lisa, and thank you for your kind words about the site.
It's great to hear that the experience has been positive for you overall, even if there may be some adjustments and challenges along the way.
Best wishes for the future and, if you have the time and opportunity, you're always welcome to post here to assist people who may be just starting out on the same road.
Congratulations to you, Lisa, and thanks for your post.
I've always thought that the true strength of this forum isn't really about the experts being able to answer questions, but moreso the people who have gone through the process themselves and are willing to share their experiences (good and bad) with others who may be a bit further back down the same journey. I think your words will be very valuable to many people so thanks for sharing!
Just a quick update. I received my form 5 today from Creditfix, six weeks after my final payment. No complications or last minute queries. Thanks again to PGJ Recovery, Creditfix and everyone that contributed on here.

Hi Lisa,
Great to hear that you have received your Form 5 discharge certificate.
I remember when the transfer from PG to CF and people were very worried but I'm glad it's worked out for you and as those organisations said it would.
All the best for the future and enjoy being debt free.
