Has anyone experienced what I am experiencing with Sainsburys? God they are just awful. I have explained my situation to them numerous times and I have returned their calls. I have wrote to them and I have even had pestering calls at my work place but they just don't get it. I received a horrible letter from them saying they are concerned as to why I keep ignoring the fact that they are trying to contact me and they are going to take default action against me. Its just so awful. I am dealing with Julie from the forum and she has been great. Trust Deed was advertised in the Edinburgh Gazette on Friday 5th February so just got the 5 weeks to wait for protected status. Julie has told me to give them her number to contact her but I just can't believe the nerve of the people that work for Sainsburys, they are so rude. I know they are only doing a job but its awful to be treated and spoken to the way I have. Just wondered if im not alone where Sainsburys are concerned?

Hello LMM,

I think a lot of people suffer unwanted calls and/or letters in the early stages of setting up a Scottish Trust Deed.

There was a really interesting post in the forum recently. A poster mentioned that Kevin had suggested to them that they should be prepared to be a little thick-skinned in the early stages until the creditors had managed to update their systems that a Scottish Trust Deed is underway.

I suggest that when they call you that you politely advise them that you have, "appointed a third party to deal with this situation who they should be dealing with directly" and that you are therefore "no longer prepared to discuss the matter directly". Then hang up.

This way there should be no opportunity for any aggressiveness or rudeness to even get started.

Hi LMM,

I can share my experience, as i have recently also went through the trust deed process. I signed mine at the end of October, and was advised by the trustee not to make any further payments. The trust deed went protected in December, with the paperwork being passed to the AIB in January.

The 5 weeks to wait for protection were a bit stressfull. I was getting loads of letters and calls, thankfully most on my mobile. I answered a few, but it seemed every time creditors did not understand or were not prepared to listen to what a trust deed was, and would still call. I ended up putting my phone on silent and just not accepting calls I didn't recognise, like 0844 type numbers.

My trustee advised to pass all correspondence on to them, and they would deal with it.

Most of the calls have stopped now, with the exception of Barclays Loans people, who call me everyday. 830 am at weekends is not pleasant!

I just ignore them. The trustee has all the paperwork, and has contacted the creditors, so hopefully they will finally get the message, as once the trust deed is protected they can't do anything anyway.

I would advise just to stick with it - you don't have to speak to them. Let the trustee deal with it.

Thanks for your reply mcbz9. Glad to hear your TD went protected that must be a big weight of your back. I know those early morning sunday calls you are talking about!!! I will keep my fingers crossed for the next 5 weeks and not going to let it get to me too much. Im dealing with a great company so I have every faith in them.

Hi Lmm,

I am currently on holiday, though return to the office on Thursday.

Next time anyone calls ask for their name, telephone number and the account reference. Please then call the office and leave this information with one of my colleagues who will deal with it in my absence.

Julie
