Hi again

i'm just wondering if anyone has entered a trust deed through Peter Dean in glasgow. i am meeting with the next week and the advisor has said i will be paying aroung £220/month. i pay around £280 a month towards my debt just now, it hardly seems worth thehassle to save £60!!

Hi Ashley.

Peter Dean is a well known Insolvency Practitioner.

I'd suggest that you don't think about a trust deed in terms of any "saving". Either you can afford £280 per month (without taking out more credit) in which case you don't need a trust deed, or you cannot afford that amount in which case a trust deed may be one of the options open to you.

How much do you owe in total?

Does £220 seem affordable?

Is Peter Dean any good at doing trust deeds?

Judging by his radio bulletin he seems confident that he knows his stuff.

Welcome to the trust deed forum XanderCruse.

It's not for me to comment on a trust deed firm or IP other than those we choose to feature on the site (and we're certainly not saying they are the only good trust deed firms out there).

Others may have a view to share.

Ashley I think you may have the wrong idea about a trust deed.

Its not about saving you money its a tool to be used when you cannot afford to meet your current commitments!!

Its based on what you can afford to pay,and will trash your credit file for 6 years. Think carefully about jumping into a trust deed, and I would advise talking to at least 2 companies to see what they both say, given that large fees are involved there are some firms out there that just want your money and dont care if a trust deed is the right option for you.

Paul

Trust deed completed Jan 2012,Trustee discharge Nov 2012.
A new dawn.
